MAYDAY –
After studying literature and photography, Nicolas Filion shifted his focus to dance in 1998. For nearly fifteen years, he collaborated with numerous dance artists and companies, including Harold Rhéaume, Louise Bédard, and Catherine Gaudet. During this time, he also pursued graduate studies at Université du Québec à Montréal, served as an artistic mediator, taught, and contributed to academic research projects until 2012. Following a five-year entrepreneurial venture running his own café, he returned to the performing arts in 2018 as a rehearsal director, artistic advisor, and booking agent. In 2019, he took over FÔVE Diffusion agency from Stéphanie Hinton, leading it throughout the pandemic. Come 2025, he closed the agency to assume the general management of MAYDAY company, under the artistic direction of Mélanie Demers. With a wide-ranging and eclectic professional and artistic background, Nicolas is deeply passionate about culture and the performing arts, consistently favoring an empathic and committed approach to their development and administration.
